Using funding from the National Cancer Institutes, Dr. Christine Richardson, professor of biology and American Cancer Society Research Scholar, has developed a model to determine if certain drugs or environmental factors promote chromosomal translocations, which can lead to cancer. Her work may lead toward determining how certain forms of cancer can be predicted and, ultimately, prevented.
