“It is an honor for our coaches and players to have the opportunity to represent UNC Charlotte, the Atlantic 10 conference, and more importantly, the United States,” said Charlotte coach Karen Aston, who was recently hired as the seventh head coach in the 49ers women’s basketball program’s history. “Our players are so excited about the opportunity and welcome the challenge.”

The team is fresh off their school-record fifth straight postseason tournament appearance and this season returns nine letterwinners, led by All-Atlantic 10 selections Sabrina Gregory, Danielle Burgin and Wendy Stywalt.
